Position Title: CNA Instructor

Reports To : Director – Program Advancement
Anticipated Starting Date : 1/23/2013
Expected Starting Salary Range : $30.00- $35.00
All supplemental employees are required to be part of the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System (MPSERS).
The primary purpose of the Certified Nurse Aide Instructor is to provide a learning environment and experiences that prepare learners for certification and successful employment in a health care career path. This individual will coordinate with the Program Coordinator / Lead Instructor, Director of Extended Education Services and students, which will require strong communication skills and the ability to develop rapport. The successful candidate will be able to reach out to people of diverse populations and connect one-on-one with students with good listening skills and the ability to understand the needs of others.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
LPN licensed with the State of Michigan
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, at least one of those years in a long term care facility
Registered Nurse License with the State of Michigan
Train-the-Trainer certified with the State of Michigan
Minimum 3 years experience teaching a Certified Nurse Aid course
WORK HOURS :
The 8-week course is offered three times per year and meets from 5:00-9:00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and from 8-4:00 on Saturdays. Clinicals are scheduled from 6-2:30 on Saturdays and Sundays.
