Provides personal care to residents. Maintains resident areas and work areas in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Assists residents in preventative, therapeutic and restorative nursing procedures. Adheres to safety and infection control policies and procedures.|
Duties include but are not limited to personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulating and transferring, etc.. Maintains resident areas and work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner. Assists residents with preventative, therapeutic and restorative procedures. Duties include but are not limited to performing range of motion and/or application of assistive devices or appliances. Assists with maintenance of resident bowel and bladder programs. Adheres to safety and infection control policies and procedures according to Standard Precautions. Completes required documentation; e.g. intakes and outputs, flow sheets. Reports changes in resident conditions, accidents, or incidents. Supports and assists Activities Services; e.g. transporting residents to and from activities, informing activities services staff of known resident interests, seeing that residents have activities to occupy them. Report defective equipment or other potential safety hazards. Works with residents, families, members of health care team and other employees in a pleasant, respectful, cooperative manner. Attend inservice programs as required by facility and state/federal guidelines. Respect and maintain resident's dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality and knowledge of Residents Bill of Rights. Promotes positive public relations for the facility. Performs other duties as assigned; e.g. soiled linen disposal.
Minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program and testing, as required by the state.
Must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to read, write and follow oral & written instructions.
