DESCRIPTION

Maghakian Place, an Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) center in St. Paul is searching for a part-time Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (260001) position. Maghakian Place provides intensive mental health and dual diagnosis treatment for an adult co-ed population of up to sixteen residents for a maximum of 90 days.

This position offers 20 hours weekly of flexible work time.

DUTIES

The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPS) supports our clients with skill development training in the following areas:

Socialization
Problem solving
Self-awareness/awareness of others
Mental health/chemical health management
Chore management
Medication supervision
Leisure and recreational activities

In addition the CPS provides instruction, modeling and feedback in the area of supportive living skills and role models the needed chores involving the clients in these activities. This role is also responsible for some meal preparation and household management tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human service field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
Certification as a Peer Support Specialist
Two years of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness

OR

6,000 hours supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness
Completion of Certified Peer Specialist Training provided by Mental Health Consumer/Survivor Network
