The charge capture specialist is responsible for the patient charging activities necessary to ensure accurate charge capture.
The charge capture specialist will perform charge entry for both the facility and the physician charge component.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFFERED EDUCATION
Formal medical records coding training.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Three years performing charge entry or in another health care setting with the responsibility of patient charging.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Physician and facility charge capture experience which includes medical record review for appropriateness of charge.
