We are currently seeking Charity Care Specialists to be based in our Oceanport location. This exciting position is responsible for providing high quality client focused service by using knowledge of the New Jersey Charity Care program to efficiently review, approve and audit Charity Care applications. Some of the duties include:

  • Reviewing applications for appropriate forms, signatures and verifications
  • Documenting actions taken in 2 computer systems
  • Working with Field Representative to collect needed verifications
  • Working with Clerical Assistant to scan and document delivered verifications
  • Reviewing applications and approving them by following established guidelines
  • Pulling files and meeting deadlines for quarterly audit functions
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of NJ Charity Care program and processes
  • Previous case management experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with people of various educational and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing and data entry
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, plan and follow through
  • Able to meet established deadlines timely and consistently
  • Basic proficiency with MS Word and Excel programs
  • Associates Degree
  • Able to read, speak and write both English and Spanish fluently
  • Previous experience with New Jersey Medicaid
  • Previous experience in a hospital business office ┬ĚPrevious experience working for Social Security Administration (SSA), Department of Medical Assistance and/or Department of Human Services
