Exciting opportunity in Maryland with Sodexo!
We are seeking a Chef in Ft. Meade, MD. This is a secure Government facility serving Breakfast and Lunch, Monday through Friday with some weekend duties. Must be U.S. Citizen and able to pass an extensive background check including a polygraph. The successful candidate will be a hands on chef, and be well versed with Sodexo programs such as Market Connections. Will manage a team of 2, including some oversight of the FOH and should also be Serve Safe certified. Overall responsibilities include: cooking, inventory, kitchen management, orders, and HACCP. Kitchen just renovated with all new equipment. One main unit with two smaller sub units. Serving area consist of 4 platforms, including a world's fare buffet and a Starbucks unit. Must be flexible to step in and help when other units may need assistance.
Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
