Sodexo is currently seeking a Chef for the Milford Hospital in Milford, CT . In this "hands on" culinary role, you will participate in all of the food production for their full-service Cafeteria serving breakfast/ lunch, Catering, Retail and Patient Meal Program. Responsibilities will include: assistance in menu planning, hands-on food preparation, inventory, ordering, purchasing, training, direct customer interaction and supervision of 6 hourly associates.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year culinary management experience as well as excellent communication, computer and customer service skills. Prior culinary experience in a corporate setting would be a plus for this role.

Position Summary:
Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
