Sodexo is seeking a Chef for it's Corporate account located in Providence, RI . In this role, you will be responsible for assisting and participating in all of the daily food contract operations for a full-service Cafe opened Monday-Friday serving breakfast and lunch (for a building population of approximately 900), coffee service and Catering. Responsibilities will include: assistance in menu planning, hands-on food preparation, inventory, purchasing, food costing, training, direct customer interaction and supervision of 5 non union hourly associates.
The successful candidate will have at least 1 year culinary management experience as well as excellent communication, computer and customer service skills. Prior culinary experience in a corporate setting would be a plus for this role.
Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to GM.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
