Sodexo at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah Georgia is looking for a Catering Chef for the Conference Center. This Chef position will responsible to manage the daily operations of the kitchen, implement production processes, provide oversight to catering events, properly manage food and labor costs and have a through working understanding of HACCP, all to exceed guest and client expectations. Best qualified candidate possesses excellent leadership and communication skills. It will be required that this position be hands on during functions to produce outstanding and high quality food and dining experiences. The Chef will work closely with the Catering Manager to create menus and plan large events.

Position Summary:

Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
