Sodexo is seeking an entry level Chef for one of their pharmaceutical plant facility account located in Suffern, NY. In this hands-on entry level role, you will participate in and direct all of the food production operations for a full service cafe feeding the 1st and 2nd shift employees and all of the on-site catering. Responsibilities will include: menu planning, hands-on food preparation, inventory/purchasing, food costing, training, scheduling, supervision of an hourly staff and direct customer interaction.
The successful candidate will have at least 1 year lead culinary supervisory experience, computer literacy, a strong working knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines as well as excellent leadership, communication and customer service skills.
Responsible for food production in a foodservice operation. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
