Job Summary
Provide engineering support, design and project management support within a high volume chemical manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design, improvement and fabrication of Energetic Material mixing and support equipment,
such as tank farm, binder mixing, composition mixing and slurry mixing
  • Responsible for effectively planning, scheduling and implementing projects for on time completion.
  • Demonstrates expertise with respect to energetic materials .
  • Coordinates with Engineering and Manufacturing Operatins as required
  • Takes initiative to find and solve chemcial process problems
  • Responsible for analyzing data and applying sound judgement to reach logical conclusions
  • Prepares clear, concise and accurate reports from technical data
  • Assists in planning the applicable budget, capital equipment, etc
  • Manages required multiple concurrent projects
  • Maintain the highes ethical standards, even when challenged from above
  • Understand and live by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies
Qualifications

  • Experience with energetic materials scale-up a plus
  • To succeed in this position, you must be knowledgeable and proficient with the OSHA PSM standard requirements
  • Basic understanding of hazards testing and the application of the results to production processes
  • To succeed in this position, you must have basic computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and Projects
  • Able to prioritize tasks based on the practical needs of the organization
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills; both writeen and oral
  • Ability to write detailed procedures/reports as required
  • Capability to make independent decisions and excellent judgment skills
  • Effectively work individually or with a team, utilitzing all available resources
  • Ability to direct others, distribute work, organize and communicate clear plans
  • Takes appropriate action when necessary; faces up to problems & issues and works toward an agreeable solution

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • 5 - 10 years experience in chemical processing industry, prefer Energetic Materials or Petrochemical
  • Experience with chemical mixing, grinding and processing
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and implementing chemical projects
  • Experience with energetic materials scale-up a plus
  • Experience in a blending/manufacturing operation
Work Hours

  • 4/10 Work Schedule - 40 hour week. Overtime as needed.
