Major/Essential Duties of Job
Prepare samples (e.g., urine, blood, tissue extracts, etc., from racing animals, livestock show animals, pharmaceuticals, etc.) and perform analysis for drugs, residues, and toxins using GC/MS, LC/MS, and other assigned instrumentation. Document and retain records of analysis and instrumental proficiency. Assist in laboratory workflow management. Interpret and communicate test results with clientele. Conduct assigned method optimization, development, and validation for the Drug Testing Lab. Maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot instruments and required resources.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology or related field.
PhD in Chemistry, Toxicology, or related field.
Two (2) years of method development and chemical detection on various instruments.
Four (4) years of method development and chemical detection on various instruments. Two (2) years of supervisory experience and workflow management. Two years of experience in a drug testing laboratory.
