With a growth rate of 28% year-to-year, MILESTONE is proactively increasing resources in our Finance department to strategically support our revenue ramp. Our current CFO will remain and continue in his senior role within our Finance organization and at the same time we are searching for a new CFO.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides both operational and financial support to the organization. The CFO supervises the company finances and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. The CFO reports directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), assists on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, ERP system management for the organization, annual and quarterly forecasting preparation and reporting management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.

Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.

Work with the President/CEO on the strategic vision including fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships on city, state, and national levels, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.

Participate in developing new business, specifically: assist the CEO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective programmatic budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.

Assess the benefits of all prospective contracts and advise the Executive Team on programmatic design and implementation matters.

Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.

Provide the executive team with an operating budget. Work with the executive team to ensure programmatic success through cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements. This includes: 1) interpreting legislative and programmatic rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and contractual guidelines, 2) ensuring that all government regulations and requirements are disseminated to appropriate personnel, and 3) monitoring compliance.

Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.

Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.

Attend Board and Subcommittee meetings; including being the lead staff on the Audit/Finance Committee.

Monitor banking activities of the organization.

Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization's needs.

Serve as one of the trustees and oversee administration and financial reporting of the organization's Savings and Retirement Plan.

Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations with funders, as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management, as well as the Audit/Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place.

Oversee business insurance plans.

Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.

Master’s degree (MBA) or equivalent and more than fifteen years’ related experience.

An experienced leader and Financial Executive with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the technology field.

Ability to implement a world class company-wide ERP system to integrate all company reporting needs within the organization.

Demonstrated experience managing CFO functions internationally.

Proven track record of building the financial structure within a 500+ person company.

A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.

A well-organized and self-directed individual who is "politically savvy" and a team player.

An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.

A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and support all divisions within the organization in all financial planning and budgeting processes.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
