Qualifications Summary:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a business-related field (a Master’s degree in a business-related field is preferred) and at least 10 years of experience in financial accounting and management, forecasting, budget preparation, and executive management. Must have prior or current experience as a CFO, Controller, or equivalent role. Must have experience in research administration. Must have experience directing the fiscal and financial functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; cost principles and regulations regarding government oversight for federal contracts and grants; OMB Circulars A-122, A-133, A-21, and A-110; pending Super Circular; and other regulatory and advisory organizations; and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate for research administration. Must possess strong supervisory, management, and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to generate financial management reports for executive management and Board of Directors (BOD). Current, valid CPA license is preferred.

Job Description Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the maintenance of financial fund accounting and financial management, development of reports for internal and external audiences, management of financial resources, conducting audits to assess effectiveness of controls and accuracy of financial records, and adhering to organization and funding agency policies, as well as applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing fund accounting and financial management systems; producing financial reports for review by ED/CEO, finance committee, and BOD; directing the preparation of short-term and long-term draft plans; creating, implementing, and managing approved budgets; drafting and implementing policies to ensure adequate controls; designing and preparing audit programs in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations; as well as the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Accounting department. Will attend finance committee meetings, and may attend other committee and Foundation meetings. May perform additional duties as required.
