Administrative Salary Range D72 with a starting salary between $90,500-$124,437, depending on qualifications and experience.

Madison College provides a generous benefits package. Newly hired Administrators serve a two year probationary period.

Organizational Function and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing institution-wide vision and leadership for the strategic planning, implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of the Technology Services Department to advance the goals of the college. The Chief Information Officer ( CIO ) is charged with the implementation of Madison College’s policies and procedures as they apply to technology and guiding the college in the effective and innovative use of technology as a strategic resource. The CIO provides strategic leadership and operational management for all information technology and telecommunications services (both administrative and academic technologies), operations and related services that support student learning, administrative processes, faculty and staff development, community service, and communications. The CIO works collaboratively with constituent groups in setting priorities for the deployment of information technology to carry out the instructional and administrative goals and objectives of the college.

This position directs the preparation of the annual budget and budget estimates for current and proposed IT projects. The CIO serves as the College’s senior advisor on matters related to information technology.

This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

Essential Duties:
The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned by the President or designee.

1. Provides College-wide leadership and direction in the review of current information technology systems and methods, and in the formulation of new and revised systems.

2. Communicates frequently and effectively to the college community about technology projects and issues.

3. Provides planning to enhance and support data, voice, and network infrastructures and services.

4. Partners with the faculty in providing for and encouraging development of innovative uses of technology in teaching, learning and scholarship.

5. Provides leadership for the development and maintenance of college-wide technology standards, policies and service agreements.

6. Develops and maintains a strategic technology plan and associated tactical technology plans.

7. Provides leadership for the process of determining the priorities, projects and future directions of the College’s information technology functions to achieve maximum college-wide efficiencies.

8. Serves as a resource for the College in matters of information technology by providing guidance and leadership.

9. Fosters a culture of commitment to quality customer service.

10. Serves as an advocate and voice for Technology Services to promote the development and implementation of information technology alternatives in both administrative and instructional applications.

11. Provides budget administration by developing departmental budget; approving and overseeing all purchase orders and consulting services; and assisting with technology budget allocation.

12. Identifies and implements “best practices” in management staff, systems, projects, and resources. Provides guidance and direction to the Technology Services management team and provides direct supervision of staff. Produces regular operational reports that can be used to analyze and evaluate service delivery, performance, and progress toward goals and objectives.

• Interpreting and applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
• Analyzing academic and administrative projects, programs, and processes for areas of improvement;
• Preparing a variety of reports;
• Communicating (orally and in writing) information, data, and opinions to inform, influence, and/or persuade a wide variety of individuals and audiences.

1. Doctorate (PhD or EdD) from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Information Technology or a closely related or one of the following equivalents:
    Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Information Technology or closely related field and two (2) years’ experience in computing infrastructure administration; OR
    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Information Technology or closely related field and four (4) years’ in computing infrastructure administration.

Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position. *

2. Eleven (11) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Information Technology, including five years of management experience.
