Primary Operational Objectives:

The Chief Inspector is responsible for leading and managing all personnel assigned to the inspection department within the repair station. To ensure systems and procedures that result in a quality product within manufacturers’ and FAA guidelines and regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for direction, planning and layout of the details for inspection standards, methods, and procedures to be used by the company’s FAA repair station in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer’s specifications.
• Ensure all log books, SB and AD research is accomplished prior to the completion of the aircraft inspection to include all operations and costs occasioned as a result of the inspection are included in the P & A’s and customer quote.
• Oversee the manuals, procedures, and insure the maintenance department is in compliance with all regulations.
• Assure compliance with the repair station’s Repair Station Quality Control & Training Manuals.
• Determine technical data on all articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are secured and kept current with latest revisions by inspectors.
• Inspect aircraft for airworthiness and ascertain inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that the appropriate inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are executed correctly prior to releasing the product for return to service.
• Research logbooks for aircraft that are being inspected for airworthiness directives, service bulletins, chapter 5, and time life items.
• Responsible to follow and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license with current Inspection Authorization (IA) required.
• Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
• Must have at least 10 years recent experience working full-time as an Inspector.
• Must have expert working knowledge of general aviation aircraft and systems.
• Experience and knowledge of aircraft/engine maintenance records and logbooks required.
• Must possess analytical ability to objectively evaluate other individuals’ job performance from the Quality/Safety aspect.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of those functions which are monitored.
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling required.
• Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
