Chief Investment Officer & Executive DirectorState of North Dakota Retirement & Investment OfficeThe State of North Dakota Retirement & Investment Office (RIO)is looking to hire a Chief Investment Officer & Executive Director, to belocated in Bismarck, ND. The CIO/Executive Director is appointed by andserves at the pleasure of the State Investment Board (SIB) and is responsiblefor the planning, supervision and direction of RIO operations in accordancewith all applicable governing statutes and Board governance policies. Keyareas of responsibility include Investment Administration/Policy, PensionAdministration, Office Administration.The North Dakota Retirement & Investment Office coordinates theactivities of the SIB and the Teachers' Fund for Retirement (TFFR) asstipulated by state statute. RIO fulfills the mission of the SIB to providecost-effective investment service to its constituents, consistent with theirrespective investment policies and guided by the premises of the PrudentInvestor Rule. In addition, the RIO administers the management anddisbursement of retirement benefits to TFFR members.
The ideal candidate will have substantial progressively responsiblework experience in investment related duties at a public pension fund,foundation, endowment, trust, investment consulting firm, bank, insurancecompany, or similar entity, including combined management / executivemanagement experience. Candidates must possess strong ethical values anda high degree of professional integrity, as well as the ability to establish andmaintain positive working relationships with a variety of constituents.
