The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will be a passionate champion of quality and performance improvement. This senior leadership position will be instrumental in developing a positive and mutually supportive relationship between the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital administrative team and medical staff. The CMO will participate in establishing and managing clinical relationships within the hospital and serve as the liaison with outside organizations.
Reporting to and partnering with the CEO, s/he will be a change agent, responsible for implementing the strategic plan of the Hospital. The CMO will work collaboratively with the executive leadership team, medical staff leadership and other physicians to oversee all aspects of clinical operations in advancing the hospital’s mission.
Position requires: the successful completion of a well regarded undergraduate and medical degree programs with medical and subspecialty training at recognized institution(s).|
• Board Certification in a chosen specialty is desirable, as are additional credentials in management or administration.
• Will have begun his/her career in the practice of clinical medicine and will have remained current in the chosen specialty.
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant clinical and progressive leadership experience with a proven track record in medical leadership positions as an accomplished CMO or a VP for Medical Affairs.
• Prior exposure to payer or provider sponsored health outcomes and quality of care initiatives.
