The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a key member of the corporate leadership team and has primary responsibility for all information technology-related day-to-day activities of the company, and contributes actively to the strategic decisions that impact the company on its path to growth and profitability. The CTO reports to the President/COO and advises the CEO, COO, and the corporate team with respect to coordination, leadership, and executive management of the Technology and Information Services. The CTO has overall responsibility for management of the Information Technology Services area including all technology related to instructional, administrative and academic computing needs of the University and company. In addition to working closely with the corporate team, the position is also expected to coordinate and work closely with the Chief Academic Officer and the Chief Operating Officer to facilitate the delivery and support of technology resources and services to corporate and university departments.

The CTO contributes to the development and management of institutional and revenue technology architectures for the university as a whole. Additionally, the CTO will be responsible for ongoing software development, managing a global team of software engineers. The CTO may also be assigned complex projects in non-technological areas for the university and is an active partner contributing to system level learning resources and revenue generating efforts. Additionally, the position is the lead authority for compliance with system procedures relating to data and information security.

Required Qualifications: • Master°s degree in Computer Science or closely related field required; terminal or doctoral degree preferred. • At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience managing a large and complex information technology service environment required. • A distinguished work record of achievement in technology and other creative endeavors. • Demonstrated success as a leader in organization with associations in the industry.

  • Software development program management experience. • Effective interpersonal and communication skills. • Must be able to develop and maintain strong collegial relationships with corporate and university colleagues. • Work experience in higher education and online teaching experience preferred.
