Child Life Specialist jobs
Assesses the emotional, developmental, educational, and diversionary needs of hospitalized children and coordinates therapeutic interventions to address the medical, procedural, surgical, and diagnostic experiences of patients and families. Plans and implements programs and services to meet the needs identified for assigned clinical population and the child life department. Promotes and practices the delivery of high quality family-centered care and services for patients and families. (KD)
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00-5:00 PM
Job Qualifications: EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, Psychology, or a related field required
Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a child life professional internship with one year of experience working with children required
Professional child life experience in a hospital environment strongly preferred.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
None
OTHER CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Child Life Specialist credential from the Child Life Council must be obtained within 12 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
