The Supervisor of Child Welfare Services supervises social workers who are working with youth in the foster care system with the objectives of achieving permanency and improving outcomes for children, youth and families within the Program. In collaboration with the deputy director, the supervisor will assist in developing a systematic process for assessing demonstrable best practices and their documentation.Essential Responsibilities: |
•Provides leadership to social work staff to promote quality services and support to youth and families receiving foster care services. This will include monitoring clinical and administrative work requirements; providing feedback and coaching; and ensuring staff meet standards for case documentation, data input, reporting, etc. Ensures that all applicable Casey practice, licensing, and accreditation standards are met.
•Collaborates with the Deputy Director to develop, maintain, and evaluate demonstration projects that are focused on increasing permanency and well-being outcomes for youth in care. Encourages innovative approaches that promote positive outcomes and have the potential to spread to other jurisdictions.
•Serves as a change agent in the deepening of permanency planning services, including working with birth parents toward reunification, working with current caregivers toward guardianship or adoption and in locating extended family members who can provide a permanent home for youth in care.
•Oversees service delivery within the Demonstration Projects and collaborates with internal and external partners to gather and evaluate data to determine how well a demonstration program or initiative is being implemented and to determine whether that program is achieving desired outcomes.
•Keeps apprised of current clinical practices and develops proposals, standards, and methods to improve the quality of services to youth and families.
