The Grant Park Orchestral Association in Chicago, Illinois seeks a part-time Chorus Personnel Manager at the Grant Park Music Festival (GPMF). This position reports to the General Manager. The Chorus Personnel Manager is responsible for key administrative tasks related to the successful management of the Grant Park Chorus and Grant Park Apprentice Chorale. The Chorus Personnel Manager also functions as the chorus librarian.

-- Ensure daily compliance with stipulations of chorus collective bargaining agreement.
-- Manage chorus audition processes, personnel contracting procedures and the hiring of supplemental and volunteer musicians.
-- Assist with the development of the chorus audition, rehearsal and performance calendar for GPMF.
-- Accurately calculate and report bi-weekly payrolls for members of the chorus.
-- Attend all chorus rehearsals and performances; maintain accurate personnel, attendance, payroll and other necessary records.
-- Participate as a management representative in the collective bargaining process.
-- In conjunction with the music librarian manage the procurement, distribution and return of choral scores.

Part-time, $20.00-25.00/hour, commensurate with experience. Annual GPMF business cycle requires approximately 10 hours per week, September through January, 20 hours per week February through April, 30 hours per week, May through August.

Each summer, the Grant Park Music Festival presents 10 weeks of concerts rich in both traditional classical fare and rarely heard orchestral and choral pieces, free to all of Chicago in Millennium Park’s exquisite Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Conceived in 1935 as a way to bolster Chicagoans during the Great Depression, GPMF now presents its classical music concert series to approximately 340,000 visitors annually. Another 1 million listeners enjoy the concerts via radio broadcast. The Grant Park Orchestral Association is governed by a 26-member Board of Directors and has a 2013 operating budget of $5.1 million.

Mandatory Job Qualifications -- Minimum of three years of experience in professional chorus/orchestra personnel administration
-- Demonstrated knowledge of choral repertoire; ability to read musical scores
-- Strong computer skills and mathematical aptitude; high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
-- Ability to work professionally and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
-- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
