PDS is currently seeking a Cisco Network and Wireless Engineer. Candidate plans, designs, defines, recommends and deploys new network systems; monitors, evaluates the performance and security for existing network systems; recommends and deploys improvement and upgrades of existing systems. Candidate will also be implementing network tools and infrastructure in support of computer security requirements. Must have strong Cisco routing and switching, as well as strong Wireless/Mesh/LWAPP experience.


5 - 7 years of relevant hands-on experience in an operational network support capacity.

Minimum of three years experience in network engineering, with some experience designing, planning and implementing LANs/WANs and WLAN using the latest technology; experience must be post-baccalaureate and progressive in nature

Perform client consultation: plan, implement, and maintain wireless LAN hardware and software using the latest technology, including networks, routers, servers, and systems hardware

Assist in designing servers and networks: analyze business needs and recommend solutions

Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems related to WLAN

Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving services* efficiency and effectiveness, keep abreast of technical aspects of the WLAN environment, and develop a working knowledge of client-specific applications

Experience with Cisco networking and wireless LWAPP.

Thorough working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking.

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of data communications and computer networking.

Experience should include Voice over WLAN, EAP-TLS and PEAP security

Experience with Cisco ACS and Windows IAS/NPS

Experience with managing and maintaining large scale campus networks and associated network services.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to take responsibility for small to medium scale projects.

Experience with Cisco network and security devices preferred

VoIP experience desirable

Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs

Willingness to travel up to 30%


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable

Cisco technical certifications preferred:

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist (AWLANFE)

Cisco Certified Network Associate in Wireless (CCNA Wireless)

Cisco Certified Network Professional in Voice (CCNP Voice)

Currently enrolled in Cisco Certified Network Professional in Wireless (CCNP Wireless)


Thorough working knowledge of Routing protocols including OSPF and BGP

Willingness to achieve - Cisco Data Center Application Services Support Specialist (DCASI)

Willingness to achieve other strategic Cisco certifications/specializations as needed
