Job Title: Civil Engineer, Water Resources
City: Research Triangle Park
State: North Carolina
Perform watershed delineation and establish
stream/drainage networks usingWatershed Boundary
Dataset, National Hydrography Dataset and Digital
ElevationModels in ArcGIS 9.x; Compile, store, manage
and analyze data from USGS, EPASTORET, NOAA, NRCS, MLRC,
USDA, NEXRAD and EPA PCS/ICIS (including butnot limited
to flow, soil, land use and land cover, water quality,
meteorological andpollutant loading data); Support
watershed characterization through remote
(aerial/GIS)analyses, field survey, and monitoring;
Perform GIS analysis and produce maps inArcGIS 9.x;
Conduct hydraulic and/or hydrologic and water quality
modeling studies;Apply existing water resource models
including but not limited to SWAT, QUAL 2K,HSPF and
MODFLOW (including model configuration, model
calibration, modelvalidation, scenario simulation, and
sensitivity analyses for nonpoint source, watershed,and
receive water models); Conduct pollutant fate and
transport studies usingmathematical models, including
Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) andQUAL2E. Analyze
results to identify critical sources for implementation
of bestmanagement practices (BMPs) to reduce pollutant
loads and for the development ofTotal Maximum Daily Load
(TMDL) process; Perform statistical analysis to analyze
andmonitor data and model results and develop
computational tools using VBA; Performengineering
calculations to evaluate stream channel stability,
design stormwater BestManagement Practices (BMPs),
develop water reuse solutions to evaluate or
developsolutions to other environmental issues and
challenges; Research and documentrelevant local, state,
and federal water programs, regulations and trends;
Supportwatershed planning studies and plan development;
Develop analytical tools andmethods to support watershed
management, BMP design and construction, or
otherimplementation activities; Monitor and evaluate BMP
performance and managementplan effectiveness; Perform
technical research and writing; Prepare documents
andreports; Prepare and give presentations both verbally
and in writing. Job Location: Research Triangle Park,
NC; Salary - $64,064.00/yr; Monday thru Friday; 40
Requires a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering
and Science orrelated field and six (6) months of
experience performing all of the job duties in the
joboffered or six (6) months of experience in the

the job offered.
