Join this professional team and make a difference. This position is located in the Test Coordination Section/Test Science and Technology Branch in Kirtland AFB, NM. KEY REQUIREMENTS

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs ARE NOT authorized. DUTIES:

As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Responsible for designing, formulating, documenting, and executing select portions of complex test programs.
  • Participates in defining research issues, conducting feasibility studies, coordinating geo-technical studies, designing and coordinating technical implementation/fielding of tests to meet technical requirements.
  • Performs work in gage ranging, data analysis, test results evaluation, and results documentation.
  • Monitors or performs test data analysis and evaluation efforts of portions of larger, more complex efforts including the reduction, interpretation, and reporting of test results. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 level you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as experience designing, formulating, documenting, and executing select portions of complex test programs.

EDUCATION:
OR you may substitute education for experience as follows: Have completed 1 full year of graduate level education; OR ,

You have completed a 4 year degree with superior academic achievement such as being a member of a National Honor Society, top 10% of your class, or graduated above a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale may be substituted for experience; OR ,
A combination of education and experience.

The Civil Engineering series (810) required a minimum education level as follows :

You must possess a degree in professional engineering; OR,

Have a combination of education and experience - college level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

Transcripts must be provided . Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. This education must be from an accredited college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.

This is an Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Workforce position in the Science and technology Manager career field. the employee will be required to become certified, Level II in the applicable career field within 24 months, unless a Position requirements Waiver is approved to extend the 24 months.

Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Engineering knowledge in structural mechanics, engineering mechanics, civil engineering and materials modeling and characterization.
2. Ability to work using multiple sources and formats.
3. Skill in learning and using new technology.
