Position Summary:
As a Claims Representative, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating and negotiating Workers' Compensation claims.

***Position can be located in either the Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA office.***

Organizational Structure:
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President and will work closely with the insureds, claimants and attorneys.

Performance Objectives:
*Investigate assigned claims and evaluate claim exposure to establish reserves.

*Manage the indemnity, medical and legal aspects of assigned claims.

*Control medical treatment and coordinate independent medical evaluations where appropriate.

*Document file activity on a timely basis.

*Assess all aspects of the claim file and accurately detail significant events and outstanding issues.

*Develop resolution strategy plans to achieve appropriate claim results and timely closure.

*Interact with insured, claimant and/or claimant’s attorney as needed to direct negotiations and achieve settlement.

Position Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
*Minimum of one year of Workers’ Compensation claims adjusting experience in NC or SC is preferred, but not required; or the successful completion of the Workers’ Compensation Trainee Program. Experience with claims handling for other product lines (i.e., GL, auto, etc.) will also be considered.

*Excellent time management, analytical, communication, investigative and customer service skills.

*Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment.

*Acquiring multiple state adjuster licenses may be required.
