Responsible for managing an insurance claims function. Manages staff and oversees the design and implementation of service plans. Monitors claim performance statistics to assure customer retention, office profitability and business development. Conducts case reviews and serves as technical expert to resolve issues. Establishes and adjusts claim reserves within authority level. Participates in the handling of the largest and/or most complex claims. Supports new business development opportunities and customer retention/expansion.
8+ years designated line of insurance experience and 2+ years management experience.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage team members and monitor claim performance statistics to assure customer retention. Demonstrated business development results to include achievement of budgeted objectives and execution of business development strategy. Must be able to handle claims for the largest and/or most complex accounts.
Working knowledge of workers compensation in California.
Multi-state jurisdiction experience working with large clients involving workers compensation issues.
Working knowledge of Excel and preparation of worksheet claim summaries.
California Property and Casualty Brokers License will be required within six months of employment.
Local travel required as needed to meet with clients and review procedures and open claims.
Experience in assisting with sales presentations as part of the brokerage team.
Ten years of insurance broker claim consultation experience or equivalent time with claim service responsibilities at insurance carrier.
Staff management experience including reviews and technical guidance.
