USAA is currently seeking a talented Claims Representative for our April training date for the San Antonio, TX location.

As a Claims Representative for USAA, you will provide claims service to members/customers regarding the initial contact on all claims service events. You will document the loss, address immediate questions regarding the claims process and assign the loss to the appropriate diary. You will apply knowledge of coverages to initiate and/or conclude claims as appropriate. You will also contribute to enterprise business goals through enterprise referrals and relationship building. This position is in the call center environment and does not require any travel or work outside the office.

Job Duties
  • Creates auto and property loss reports, states or verifies coverage as appropriate and initiates the most effective method of damage assessment.
  • Explains the claims process and responds to caller concerns. For complex losses, escalates the loss report to the appropriate area for handling.
  • May adjust and conclude low complexity first party auto physical damage claims. May analyze information to establish validity of claim and settlement value.

Training Hours
  • You must be available to attend up to 8 weeks of paid structured classroom training. Training hours will be 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday with a licensing test during the 2nd week on either Friday or Saturday. Training schedule could vary slightly the 6th-8th week of training.
Work Hours
  • The work schedule after pipeline and NET can be any hours from 6:00am to midnight to include Saturday and Sunday.
  • Will include holiday coverage as well.
  • Available work schedule options will be determined based on business need.
  • This role currently includes a pay shift premium for working hours after 6pm M-F & all day Saturdays & Sundays as well as 1½ pay for overtime or holidays.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of customer service/sales experience OR Bachelor's Degree OR Successful completion of military service OR 1 year customer service/sales experience plus 30 hours of college credit.
  • 1+ years experience multi-tasking in a Windows operating system environment.
  • 1+ years experience frequently communicating (minimum 60% of the time) with customers by phone, e-mail and/or face to face.
  • Current license or ability to obtain within a designated number of attempts (if applicable).
  • 1+ years experience working in a problem resolution/analytical environment.
  • Contact/Call Center experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
