Purpose:
• Manage & Support Flextronics America’s Classification Team and Flextronics Global Classification process.
Principle Accountabilities/Duties:
• Support the global classification team with research, creation and submittal of binding rulings from the Americas region
• Managing a team classifying Flextronics commodities, software, and technology with US content with Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN’s) according to the Bureau of Industry and Security’s Commerce Control List (CCL) and category classifications under the USML for Department of State as well as technology with the Export Control List (ECL) according to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT)
• Review and submit for any binding rulings for CCATS and BIS reports
• Works in close cooperation with the classification group for Americas within the global classification team
• Supports the global classification team with trainings and delivers classification related information from the Americas
• Validates the classification (random choice) of the global team in respect of Americas
• All work is expected to be conducted in an independent manner with escalations as needed with limited oversight by management.
• Responsible for ensuring legal compliance within government rules and regulations pertaining to classification
Minimum (MUST HAVE) Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years in international trade and regulatory compliance
• High level expertise (HTS & ECCN Classification) in classifying parts, finished goods, software and technology according to various country legislations for import & export purposes, especially US customs and export regulations
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced and changing environment
Desired (NICE-TO-HAVE) Minimum Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with all levels of management
• Excellent computer and data analysis skills
• College degree preferred
• Government or Customs certifications if applicable
