The PART TIME TEMPORARY Cleaning Services Workers are responsible for the heavy trash collection and maintaining the cleanliness in exhibit halls for the guests attending COMIC-CON International 2013. The selected candidates will be assigned to work at specific aisles in an exhibit hall. Candidates with cardboard baling experience will be assigned to work at the loading dock area. This is an event-driven position and work hours are not guaranteed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.
Maintains the cleanliness of assigned aisles in an exhibit hall by collecting trash and using trash bins. Empties trash containers.
Maintains proper care of uniform shirts, personal protective equipment and supplies (includes use of box cutters).
If assigned, breaks down cardboard boxes and safely operates the cardboard baler in the loading dock area, upon successful completion of equipment training.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Temporary workers will be trained onsite. General work experience in housekeeping or custodial maintenance in the hospitality industry is a plus.
Basic ability to read instructions in English. Basic ability to write, understand and speak in English.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Experience with the cardboard baler is highly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Availability to work from Wednesday , July 17, 2013 through Monday, July 22, 2013 and attend a required 4-hour orientation and division training on Monday, July 15, 2013. Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures. Ability to work in a busy work environment and with very large crowds in the facility. Must be able to provide own pants and shoes throughout the temporary assignment: khaki (beige) pants and plain black or dark colored comfortable walking shoes (closed-toe shoes). The uniform shirt (navy blue polo shirt) will be issued by the corporation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay Rate: $10.92 per hour
