Summary: Receives and processes patients in an efficient and courteous manner.
Responsibilities: Registers patients following applicable guidelines: conducts a thorough search of the history file per procedure; obtains complete and accurate social and financial information and signatures; schedules and pre-registers. Requests information on Advance Directive (Health Care Proxy). Follows insurance and Managed Care procedures. Will cross train and may float to other Registration areas: Admissions, Observatory Ancillary Services, occupational Health, Ambulatory Care, Splint Room, Emergency Department and Lab outreach. Other related registration services, as needed.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred. 2 years of health care experience, medical terminology, surgical day experience, and previous authorization experience required.
