Processes Hospital and HMO requests for confidential physician information accurately and in a timely manner.

Processes replies according to the Department procedure and promptly forwards to appropriate party.

Performs computer related functions adequately as per departmental guidelines.

Prepares, with the assistance of the Credentials Coordinator, all reappointment document

and mails out/receives same.

Checks all privilege delineations for accuracy and sends out completed reappointment packet in a

timely manner.

Types necessary communications and reports as requested by supervisor.

Delivers and retrieves department mail and distributes to appropriate departmental personnel.

Provides support for Risk Management Program:

In conjunction with Risk Manager, develops systems to organize written incident reports.

Tabulates and files patient/employee incident reports by risk category.

Provides support to Risk Manager in managing the Incident Reporting System.

Provides support for the Patient Advocacy Program:

Organizes, tabulates, and records patient satisfaction data in the computer system.

Disseminates aggregate data to appropriate departments/clinicians as needed.

Accurately types patient advocate external communication.

Quality Improvement/Case Management:

Organizes, tabulates and records Quality and Case Management data.

Acts as liaison between external review agencies and case managers. Faxes appropriate

information to third party payors.

Provides support to Operations Manager and Director in managing the Quality Improvement and Case Management Programs as needed.

Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills:

Correctly receives and transfers telephone messages in a quick and timely manner.

Ability to communicate effectively with a large number of individuals and departments on an ongoing basis.

Demonstrates an ability to learn and adapt to change in hospital function, management style or


· High school graduate.
· 1-3 years secretarial background preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public at large and fellow employees.
· Computer knowledgeable, and possessing organizational skills.
