BUTLER COUNTY AUDITOR Board of Revision SpecialistBoard of Revision specialist, exempt and nonclassifiedHours of Work: 40 hours per week minimum Essential Functions: Butler County Auditor Roger Reynolds seeks a full time Board of Revision specialist to perform various clerical duties pertaining to the maintenance; scheduling and day-to-day function of the Board of Revision and appeal cases for the Board of Tax Appeals and Common Pleas Court. This position requires advanced math and computer skills as well as the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with supervisors, co-workers, attorneys and the public.The Board of Revision specialist, under minimal and general supervision of the Tax Accounting Supervisor/Real Estate Director, maintains Board of Revision records by performing various clerical and mathematic computations including but not limited to adjusting tax bills; scheduling hearings; composing original correspondence; updating existing correspondence; maintaining computer records; and researching and explaining real estate data to taxpayers. The specialist will also preside as recording secretary for Board of Revision hearings.
Qualifications: Must have a minimum two years college or 10 years related work experience; Advanced knowledge of basic word processing (Word) and Excel spreadsheet programs; Basic knowledge of the Ohio Revised Code as it pertains to the Board of Revision; Must be able to communicate verbally and accurately read, write and comprehend written material, with or without reasonable accommodation; Must be able to perform, comprehend and train staff in mathematical computations. Paralegal experience, transcription skills, and experience with parliamentary procedure also preferred.Physical Requirements: The Board of Revision specialist will work out of the Butler County Administrative Center, 130 High Street, Hamilton, Ohio on the third floor of the Auditor's Office.
