US Army Veterinary Services operates as a subsidiary of Public Health Command. Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a Flex position with the Fort Campbell Veterinary Clinic. The veterinary clinic is located in approximately a 3,000 square foot building, housing both the command and clinical staff. The clinic services active duty and retired military personnel. The clinic currently operates a surgical suite, laboratory and four exam rooms seeing as average of 65 outpatients per day. The position includes scheduling appointments in the AVIMARK operating system, ansering basic veterinary related questions, providing information to clients regarding health certificate requirements to those PCSing overseas, performing daily activities reports and making bank deposits. The working environment is face-paced. Hours are on a rotating split week schedule: 3 days on and 2 days off, then rotates to 2 days on and 3 days off. Incumbent must be able to work weekends and evening hours, and must be able to report to work on short notice if necessary.

Performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions in support of the activity to which assigned. Receives and reviews incoming documents for completeness taking or coordinating and tracking required action. Establishes and maintains offices files in accordance with regulatory guidance/procedures. Responds to customer inquires and complaints providing general information and assistance concerning office function, established procedures, etc. May be responsible for automated time and attendance processing.
May perform a variety of complex typing.
Possess progressively responsible clerical experience.
Possess computer knowledge demonstrating experience in database, spreadsheets and word processing programs.
Possess experience calculating.
Possess ability to type 40 words per minute (WPM).
Highly Preferred Criteria
Possess experience using veterinary software (i.e., AVIMARK system).
Best Qualified Criteria
Possess clerical experience working in a veterinary clinic or equivalent.

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid experience or volunteer work.
