Client Development Specialist II
As a senior-level Client Development Specialist with Terracon you will actively search for business opportunities for the firm, assist management in the implementation of office or division business goals, objectives and strategies, and assist management in the preparation of qualification packages, written proposals and other client submittals. The incumbent may also assist other Client Development specialists to help operating managers in implementation of client development plans.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Responsible for using his/her personal contacts to develop long-term client relationships.
Spends time outside of the organization in direct contact with clients.
Schedules meetings with existing and potential clients for purpose of introducing or reminding clients of firm’s technical capabilities in present or new service lines.
Uses extensive networking contacts to develop leads and provide new projects from past, existing and future clients. May solicit advice or assistance from other members of the firm to implement this strategy.
Assists management in the formulation of division and/or office client development plans. Assists operations managers with the execution of client development programs.
In conjunction with other Client Development Specialists, develops proposals to communicate the firm’s qualifications and commitments to present or potential clients.
Utilizes the contacts in appropriate professional organizations to network with potential clients and to develop intelligence regarding the firm’s competition.
Creates the written materials and display format for presentations to prospective clients.
Reports to supervisor on planned and proposed sales activities within his or her goals. May be accountable for generating specified volume of business within a pre-defined time frame.
On routine client proposals and with assistance from supervisor, may develop scope of work and recommend fees on some projects.
Responsible for organizing and executing promotional programs which include professional displays at designated conventions, conferences or professional trade shows.
Assists supervisor in developing the divisional or office client/prospective client contact system to track clients and record contacts made.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Will perform other client development duties as assigned.

Demonstrated ability to communicate well with technical professionals, corporate management and client groups.
Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and coordinate activities.

Will perform work in an office setting and at clients’ places of business. Noise level will usually be moderate.
Overnight travel may be required with this position.
MS in Marketing or Sales Management or related degree plus at least 4 years of practical experience in sales or marketing of professional services; or
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Sales Management or related degree plus at least 6 years of practical experience in sales or marketing of professional services; or
Associates of Arts or Science (2-year) degree plus at least 8 years of practical experience in sales or marketing of professional services; or
At least 10 years of practical experience in sales or marketing of professional services for this or another similar organization.
Valid driver’s license (unless other arrangements have been approved by Division Manager and Corporate).
