Education: AAS Degree in MIS, Business, related field or equivalent experience
Minimum 5-7 years experience engineering in a large Windows desktop/laptop/Citrix/Active Directory environment (roaming profiles, etc)
Certification: Citrix, Microsoft, or equivalent experience
Advance Networking concepts(TCP/IP, Firewalls, Network Security)
Experience engineering, deploying and supporting large scale O/S migrations and introducing new technology based on business needs and industry standards
Solid foundation designing and implementing distributions with Citrix, MS Windows, Active Directory, SCCM for the full lifecycle with diagrams, workflow Visio's, support documentation and training, presentations, etc.
Solutions oriented, taking initiative on a regular basis finding ways to avoid problems proactively rather than just fixing them after the fact

This role will be part of the Client Services engineering team responsible to architect, design, and implement solutions for client technologies. This includes formally designing and implementing large migrations and new technology efforts in addition to being a senior technical resource, providing day to day packaging and 3 rd level support.
The client technologies include Microsoft desktops/laptops/Citrix servers/peripheral devices/software, PDA's, etc. The team also engineers tools and software for client technologies such as anti-virus, Microsoft Office, Visio, support tools and procedures, software packaging, and software distribution. You must have strong hands on experience designing the Windows and Citrix operating systems to host a variety of applications with optimum performance. You will need to package/script and use automation to manage a large number of PC Clients and Citrix servers. Strong accountability, analytical, organizational and communication skills are a must.
Perform user, system and support requirements gathering and analysis to provide design and architectural recommendations
Research options providing functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches
Develop, organize and maintain standard operational procedures
Create desktop/laptop/citrix build processes
Create and communicate systems and application standards
Create and maintain systems documentation for testing and validation
Package software and design distribution methods
Perform software distribution and patch management to Windows PC's, laptops, and Citrix servers
Maintain relevant and current knowledge and be a leader, within assigned technical fields
Prioritize work efforts, multi-task in a very fast-paced environment, and provide timely and clear updates
Provide technical leadership to large projects
Provide timely project status/scorecards
Provide technical consultations and presentations to IT as needed
Create and lead configuration management processes, while following all change management guidelines.
Provide disaster recovery planning for client technologies
Perform post-implementation 3 rd level support, identifying root cause with strategic solutions to problems
Provide on call support as required
Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
