Entry level position open to students completing Bachelor's degree in May, 2013. Position will reside in Mankato, MN.
The Client Solutions Associate program is a 2 year training program designed for recent college graduates. The Associate works through a Syllabus consisting of intensive modules in Ag Credit, Sales, and Collections. After completing 24 months of the program, the Associate should be well positioned to take a regular position in Ag Finance Sales.
In the Credit area, the Associate will serve AgStar’s internal and external clients by providing support to other team members and processing the loan requests, loan servicing requests, and other credit services originated in the organization’s territory. Provides support for analysis of loan applications for new or renewed loans and loan servicing.
In the Sales area, the Associate’s primary responsibilities are centered around providing agricultural and financial services to clients and building strong relationships with these clients. The Associate should work to combine his/her agricultural and business/finance knowledge with an understanding of each client’s current financial position in order to provide solutions to meet clients needs. As the relationship builds between the client and the incumbent, the client should begin to regard him/her as a resource who provides new and worthwhile knowledge/products allowing the clients to manage their business more efficiently and effectively. As part of this activity, the incumbent markets AgStar’s services and other related services to clients and prospective clients based upon the individual’s need for these products.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, ag business or equivalent ag or business related degree. Experience in agribusiness/farming industry, agricultural credit or closely related field preferred. Internship experience preferred. Ability to make sound judgments is required. Solid organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, and influencing skills are required. The incumbent must have knowledge of farm production methods and products, a general understanding of farm business management, and finance. The incumbent must demonstrate effective team building and processing skills. The understanding of and ability to use various computer business/financial applications is required. This is the entry level sales position for the organization.
