Under the direction of the Physician Director of the practice and/or Director of Outpatient Operations, provides a wide variety of nursing care services to patients. Such services can be therapeutic or diagnostic procedures and/or administration of medication. Responsible for supervision of nursing personnel in the clinic, for organizing patient flow and determining and adjusting exam room assignments to ensure optimal space utilization. Heavy interaction with physicians. May also assist in all aspects of research clinical trial administration, including: screening, recruitment and interviewing of subject, collection of data from hospital records, telephone follow-up with subjects, and some data entry.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
Successful completion of pharmacy course preferred.

Licensure:
Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois.

Skills and Experience Required:
One to three years experience as a registered nurse; at least one year in a supervisory role preferred.
Ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in Medicine specialties is highly preferable.
Computer proficiency. Familiarity with UCH Information Systems (Epic, OACIS) preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to handle a wide variety of public contacts, including conflicts, with patience, tact, courtesy and discretion.

Other Critical Requirements:
Excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability in determining priorities, working independently, and exercising sound judgment.
High degree of initiative and problem-solving ability.
Considerable skill in communicating verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
Maturity; ability to exercise judgment and assume responsibility.
Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers, supervisor and physicians to do whatever needs to be done in order to serve the patient and the flexibility to learn and incorporate new systems and processes.
Ability to attend mandatory training classes offered by the Hospitals after hours or on weekends, with advance notice.
