The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing, a graduate of a vocational medical assistant program or six months of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of a physician. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) through the American Heart Association is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, a commitment to customer service and the ability to effectively communicate with all applicable customers and age groups is a must.
The clinical assistant performs the duties necessary to meet the patients needs in the most efficient and empathetic manner. Some of the specific duties include:
*Prepares the patient at the onset of the visit
*Assists the physician with procedures and examinations as needed
*Assists the physician in the provision of patient and family education
*Performs clerical duties as necessary
*Provides nursing care for the patient as directed by the physician
*Maintains accurate medical records
*Completes accurate coding of medical and laboratory procedures
*Competence in providing age appropriate communication and care for patients for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
