The Clinical Coding Nurse(s) are responsible for the completion of target chart reviews and addendums. The Clinical Coding Nurse will assist the Manager, Clinical and Coding in the development clinical analytic rules and integration of all CMS rules and regulations on product and service development. The Clinical Coding Nurse will be responsible for the development and maintenance of contract and auditor training manual.

The Clinical Coding Nurse will assist the Manager, Clinical and Coding with the training and oversight of contracted nurses. The Clinical Coding Nurse will serve as technical support for clinical aspects of new product and service development.


  • Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner

  • Four plus years clinical or case management experience.

  • Three (3) plus yrs experience in clinical coding with emphasis on ICD9, CPT, HCPCs, DRG and pharma.

  • In-depth working knowledge of physician billing and coding requirements and systems.

  • In-depth working knowledge of physician practice patterns and coding practices.

  • Hands on experience in HCC risk methodology and technical solutions and CMS rules and regulations relating to coding, preferred.

  • Extensive demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office products, web based clinical technology tools and customized technology tools

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers and physician practices and generate a positive relationship with all stakeholders

  • Exceptional service orientation

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of time.

  • Ability to assume additional responsibilities as needed and maintain confidentiality.

  • Understands the importance of maintaining the physical and technical security and privacy of protected health information (PHI).
