Advertised Summary Job Description

The Clinical Coordinator will assist physicians in all treatments and procedures, perform preoperative patient interviews and assessments including pre-op instructions, post-operative patient care and instructions, prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with standards. Observe, report and record patient's condition, reaction to drugs and treatment, compile and record all patient laboratory information. The candidate will work closely with the Site Manager in the clinical supervision of Medical Assistants and LPNs, ensuring all competencies and clinical responsibilities are completed accurately and ensuring that LPNs and Medical Assistants are updated with new medical procedures and techniques. The candidate will assist providers during clinical practices, record patient histories and vital signs, venipuncture, and collect/prep specimens. The candidate will prepare pre and postoperative surgical room including cleaning, sterilization and maintenance, monitor use of equipment, surgical instruments and supplies including the ordering of medical equipment and supplies. The incumbent will triage all calls and advise appropriate clinicians. Assists in improving and maintaining the existing laboratory and pathology tracking system, maintains precise records of all specimens obtained and sent for testing , reviews all laboratory reports within 24 hours of their receipt and provides physicians with results for routine review prior to scanning. Notifies patients of normal results as determined by the physician either by confidential notification cards or telephone. Provides patients with appropriate and/or necessary appointments, instruction, and/or requisition as determined by the physician's plan of care. Tracks abnormal lab results to confirm that patient has had appropriate follow up as ordered by the physician in the patient's plan of care. Acts as a resource for patients requesting lab results and requisition. Completes medical forms for patients when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

.Licensed to practice as an RN in the State of New York. CPR Certification required and strong phlebotomy skills. Private practice experience and a minimum of one year OBGYN experience in clinical setting.
