As part of the Telecare family, La Paz is a 134 bed Geropsych SNF with a Special Treatment Program to provide mental health services. This program is designated as an Institution for Mental Disease (IMD).


The Clinical Director oversees and coordinates the day-to-day functioning of the culturally competent teams in conjunction with the approved proposal, Telecare and Alameda County performance measures, and all applicable State regulations. Ensures that each consumer receives the skills and supports necessary to lead successful and satisfying lives in the setting of their choice.


Three years recent paid experience as the chief of service for a community mental health or county outpatient, placement, or intensive case management or similar service. In addition, must have at least two years of providing direct dual diagnosis services as well as supervision in this area. The Clinical Director also requires a license as a Clinical Social Worker, licensed Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Nurse Specialist. In addition to experience supervising professional, paraprofessional and support staff, the incumbent must have experience working with consumers, families and advisory boards. The incumbent should have an understanding of intensive case management, Integrated Service Agency, and psychiatric rehabilitation concepts. A successful track record working with, and sensitivity to, multi-cultural populations and issues in urban settings is highly desirable. Must have a valid California driverâ??s license, a DMV clearance for insurability, a vehicle (approved for safety), and proof of insurance. Must be CPR certified. Criminal background clearance and education verification are required.
