DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Director (CD) at Wayside House, Inc. directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of residential and extended residential treatment, as well as outpatient service programs within Wayside House on a 24-hour basis.

The CD is responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations in the attainment of objectives and goals regarding rehabilitation from drug/alcohol dependency. This is accomplished in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others and adaptive to change.

The CD evaluates treatment procedures to ensure client safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance. The CD works with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of client care.

The CD reports to the Executive Director (ED) of Wayside House, Inc. on administrative matters and the Medical Director on medical/clinical matters.

DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish rapport, systematically complete psychosocial assessment, gather data determine client readiness for treatment, change, and determine if a diagnosis of substance abuse disorder is warranted.
  • Facilitates or Co-Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions with assigned groups of clients as well as co-facilitating family conjoint therapy sessions demonstrating knowledge of addiction and the principles and techniques of group therapy.
  • Shows knowledge and understanding of individual client and family dynamics in the early stages of treatment.
  • Completes all documentation including psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, progress notes and discharge summary maintaining compliance with the policies and procedures of the facility.

  • Provides leadership to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Plans and monitors for appropriate staffing and ensures that quality services are provided.
  • Provides for professional growth and development of staff members.
  • Demonstrates accountability for personal and professional competency and growth.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • A personal understanding of the 12-step model
  • Minimum of at least 3-5 years experience in the field
  • Required credentials of LCSW/LMFT and/or LMHC
