The Clinical IT Project Manger provides direction and management of a variety of complex, specialized technology projects ranging from institution-wide systems to clinical departmental specific systems -- to include development and execution of project charters and project management plans (scope statement, deliverables, budget management plan, project budget, organizationsl charts and/or team charters, rish management plan, risk log, issue management plan, issues log, schedule management plan, work breakdown structure, resource allocations, project schedule, vendor management plan, project training plan, project communications plan , project change management, etc.); establishment and leadership of implementation, steering, change control and project teams; organizes work of team leaders assigned to project ranging from functional to technical offices. Insures that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field, with 4-5 years work experience in a clinical environment OR equivalent combination of education and at least 7 years work experience in a clinical environment.
Minimum of 4 years of clinical applications system implementation experience. To include a minimum of 2 of the 4 years experience as a project manager for large, complex clinical projects in a hospital/clinical setting.
At least 3 years experience using formal Project Management methodologies.
Institutional knowledge or experience in healthcare with the variety of types of projects that serve the clinical and service missions. 4 or more years of experience applying project management best practices and processes in the planning and managing of large, complex clinical projects. Previous clinical experience. Previous IT Technical experience. Experience with the following clinical applications: Cerner, GE/IDX and/or McKesson HealthQuest. Experience working with Micrososft Project and Microsoft Project Server (2007 or 2010 or 2013). Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent certification. Understanding of Project Management Body of knowledge (PMBOK) Discipline (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)
