Overview:
SUMMARY PERFORMANCE DESCRPITION : This person will supervise behavioral health Community Support Workers in their work to facilitate the re-integration of behavioral health patients in their community and will provide clinical services. This person must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast paced environment.
REPORTS TO : Clinical Director of Outpatient Core Service Agency.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION : Must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and an active District of Columbia license. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Ability to effectively assess, plan and implement therapeutic services in a multidisciplinary setting. Particular skills in therapy and assessment, knowledgeable about needs of geriatric and adult populations; trained in a variety of treatment philosophies to respond to varying patient responses to treatment.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE : Minimum of two years relevant experience.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Location of work is in and around Outpatient Behavioral Health Services Program of the Hospital. Some hazard potential from physically acting out patients and health related communicable diseases, some assistance may be required in assisting patients in personal hygiene. Travel to speaking engagements or other activities may be required.
