The Clinical Nurse Liaison II is responsible for assessing, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating clinical care, programs and initiatives for the assigned service/units. The CNL II works closely with the nurse managers and directors of the service/units, assuming leadership in creating and maintaining an environment that cultivates excellent patient care. The CNL II function as a clinical expert and supports professional nursing practice. The CNL II applies theoretical knowledge to guide nurses in the provision of safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient nursing care in collaboration with all health care disciplines.
The CNL II leads continuous quality improvement through participation in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of service/unit plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures. The CNL II furthers and ensures compliance, with standards established by professional nursing organizations, national, state, and local regulatory agencies, and institutional policies and procedures. The CNL II holds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, role models professionalism, and participates in activities such as nursing organizations, nursing research and the community.Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a masters degree in nursing or related field. Recognition as an advanced practice nurse/CNS preferred.
Certification in a clinical nursing specialty is to be completed within two years if not held at the time of appointment. Current license or valid permit to practice nursing in Texas. Work Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice Management Experience: Related clinical/leadership experience is preferred.
