The Clinical Operations Consultant assumes responsibility for conducting quality assurance reviews in the assigned facilities in Georgia and Alabama. The Clinical Operations Consultant is responsible for auditing the quality of care and services according to professional standards of long term care consistent with company policy, federal and state laws. The Clinical Operations Consultant provides a consultative and supportive role to the assigned facilities. The Clinical Operations Consultant recommends resources in an efficient and economical manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental or psychosocial well-being. The Clinical Operations Consultant documents findings and composes accurate, detailed reports of each facility review that is intended to be used in the facility Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance program.

  • Provide support to Executive Director, Medical Director, Department Managers and Governing Body to formulate operational strategies and achieve facility objectives within planned budgets and schedules.
  • Provide recommendations to all departments to execute tasks as necessary to implement operational objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions and assist with ensuring the protection and promotion of resident rights.
  • Demonstrate satisfactory level of interpersonal skill to interact with facility administration, community and government agencies, and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Identify areas within assigned facilities for improvement or attention and make recommendations to the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services for corrective action.
  • Assist assigned facilities with the coordination of Quality Assessment and Improvement initiatives with Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services.
  • Working knowledge with facility policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, application of universal precautions for blood borne pathogens, use of personal protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Periodically perform teaching functions and provide guidance and support to facility staff as needed with regard to in-services or other educational needs.
  • Participate in facility surveys and subsequently required corrective action or reporting.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification as required.
  • Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to respond to change productively and to handle additional projects as delegated.
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
  • Demonstrates the ability communicate effectively with staff members, other professional staff, consultants and residents in interdisciplinary care setting and to government/regulatory agencies.
