Summary of Duties
The Pharmacist Coordinator, under general supervision, assists the Pharmacy Director in the operation of the Pharmacy Department. Provides consultant services to the medical and nursing staff. Within the area of delegated duties/responsibilities and in accordance with hospital/departmental policies, coordinates the operation of the pharmacy department on a daily basis. Staff pharmacist duties may require the Pharmacist Coordinator to be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care of patients of all ages including neonate, child, adolescent, and geriatric. The Pharmacist Coordinator must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. The Pharmacist Coordinator will report to the director of pharmacy directly.
Qualifications & Requirements
Currently licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of California
Minimum of 2 years work experience in a Pharmaceutical position required
Minimum of 2 years work experience in a supervisory role preferred
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
Works well with others in a team-oriented environment, including support of other co-workers’ job duties in a manner that further advances the goals and objectives of the whole organization
Ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines
Ability to lead self and others
Knowledge of management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize job responsibilities
