We are looking for a practicing Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or related healthcare provider to join our Product Management team full time at Practice Fusion.
You’ll be using your clinical experience to help us enhance our EMR and develop new features used by physicians, nurses and medical professionals across the US. You will innovate better workflows, design clinical functionality that enables care improvement and removes barriers to adoption. You will also build out content for specialties including templates, order sets and other functionality and will be one of our main resources for clinical questions.
Clinical perspective – Lead the clinical aspects of EMR and PHR (patient health record) projects, including CPOE and encounter note documentation. Envision the solution and scope, define requirements and project manage the delivery of requisite functionality. Work closely with engineering to deliver projects that can be easily adopted and effectively used by clinical staff.
Project management – Prioritize business objectives and facilitate on-time delivery of projects working across the organization including other product management, engineering and QA staff.
Thought leadership – Amplify and drive the company’s leadership in the market as the leader in clinical results and ease of use for clinicians. Track compliance news to ensure we’re meeting regulatory requirements and clinical appropriateness.
Develop measures – With the VP of Product Management, develop and manage the core clinical metrics used to prioritize projects, train customers and ensure consistency for users.
Clinical content – Organize and map templates order sets, decision support rules and quality measure informatics used in the EHR.
Product functionality - Define easy-to-use information presentation inside the EHR that matches the workflow of busy users.
Outreach - Interact with customers and other external stakeholders to understand diverse practice needs, workflow variations and content needs. Convene the clinical advisory board and other ad hoc physician/clinician groups to conduct product focus groups.
3+ years in an ambulatory practice setting providing clinical care to patients, either in primary care or in a specialty practice.
Classwork or degree in clinical informatics desired but not required.
Excellent communication skills, especially in sharing complex medical concepts with non-clinical staff.
Experience leading or being a significant contributor in the implementing EMR or CPOE technology in an ambulatory setting.
Expertise driving clinical workflow improvements – process integrity, scaling patient load while retaining quality, and measuring results.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to compare and contrast different workflow approaches and evaluate best practices objectively.
Strong experience in project management with a proven track record of on-time delivery, ability to make reasonable tradeoffs and manage multiple priorities.
Working knowledge of coding standards used for billing (CPT/ICD). Knowledge of clinical terminologies such as SNOMED or Medcin a plus.
Participation in an agile environment with SCRUM helpful

BS/MSN in Nursing with PA/FNP or equivalent credentials. Degree in nursing informatics also considered
