The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) treats the effects of all types of abuse while also emphasizing community-based prevention to end the cycle of family violence. The VIP is world renowned for its programs which together provide medical, forensic, mental health and social services for all victims of violence.
VIP, in partnership with DCFS, DHS, and DMH, created the HUBs, a full-service health care system for children in or at risk for out of home placements. The VIP HUB located at LAC_USC County Hospital serves children ages 0-18 under DCFS supervision, children who are at heightened risk for abuse, re-abuse and neglect, including those with complex medical or psychiatric problems that require special treatment and monitoring. CATC provides 24-hour/7-day a week forensic and medical evaluations for any child who may have been abused. The VIP is looking for a Clinical Program Manager for its Mental Health Center to oversee the development and delivery of outpatient mental health services for the LAC_USC HUB and East San Gabriel Valley Satellite HUB sites.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Provide leadership, supervision and support in a multidisciplinary program to serve abused and neglected children and adolescents.
Manage and supervise all clinical, crisis intervention, administrative and programmatic aspects of the HUB Mental Health programs, directly supervise all program staff.
Provide clinical consultation and oversight of up to 10 licensed or licensed eligible MSW, MFT, Psy.D. or PH.D. clinicians.
Provide on-going training to program staff in the collaborative crisis intervention model delivered at the HUB mental health programs.
Manage the work flow of the HUB mental health programs to ensure that the maximum number of children is treated effectively and efficiently.
Monitor and manage the flow of the referrals to ensure that the of children treated in the HUBs in the correct funding category (e.g. MediCal or Indigent).
Provide supervision and oversight of Evidence Based Practice service delivery to ensure model fidelity and exceptional care.
Active participation as a member of the Clinical Management team to address program policy and procedures, develop best practices, and improve service delivery.
Ongoing documentation supervision, training, and quality assurance and utilization review of client charts to ensure DMH and DCFS contract compliance.
Recruitment, hiring and training of new therapists.
Ensure quality assurance and improvement in P&P are congruent with DMH and DCFS contracts to maintain state, federal and county compliance of service delivery and documentation standards. Works closely with the VIP CMHC Quality Improvement Supervisor to ensure DMH and DCFS contract compliance.
Outreach to community partners and referral sources; resource management, linkage and attend service area meetings.
Position Requirements
Licensed MFT, MSW, Clinical Psychologist Ph.D./Psy.D. for at least 2 years.
4+ years of management/ supervisory experience.
Proven success in collaborating with community partners, public and private, to broaden and strengthen programs, and increase access to services.
Must have experience treating children exposed to trauma such as domestic violence, physical and/or sexual abuse.
Must have complete understanding and working knowledge of DMH & DCFS systems, documentation, and population.
Crisis Intervention Service delivery experience and availability to support the program as needed 24/7.
Ability to manage crises & to contain clinical staff in containing children in crisis.
Manage the “on call” crisis intervention activities for all the crisis intervention specialists to ensure proper coverage.
Strong organization & communication skills, team player, ability to lead multidisciplinary treatment team.
Proficient computer software skills (MS Office Suite, EXYM or other electronic health records system, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast paced interdisciplinary environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy, attention to detail, and courtesy and respect to clients and staff.
Ability to provide mental health services to socioeconomically diverse populations with compassion.
Trained in TF-CBT by LAC DMH or CIMH a plus.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
This is full-time position, exempt position reporting to the Clinical Director. Salary is DOE + bilingual pay differential (if applicable). VIP CMHC offers a rich benefits package including medical, dental, vision & life insurance as well as a 401(k) plan.
